8 Months

Yesterday was Melina's 8 month birthday. So here's her report card.
- She is a rolling MACHINE. Now that Melina has also mastered rolling from her back to her tummy (at least to the left), she loves rolling all over the floor, back and forth. In the process, she picks up quite a bit of dog fur - she's almost like a little lint brush (even if we just vaccumed).
- Melina often doesn't sit for long: trying to grab something beyond her reach, she'll lean forward and to her side and end up on her belly. It's not crawling but she's definitely working towards that.
- Melina is our dancing queen. At daycare, her teacher uses music a lot (she dances for the childen, shows them how to make "music" etc) and Melina now does her own little version of dancing: she shakes her head and scrunches up her face when we clap or dance. It's super funny!
- After Melina hit the ground running with babbling, she almost stopped. Now she does a little bit of babbling but not much. We're waiting for those consonants to return!
- We've introduced Melina to a sippy cup but right now she sees it as a chew toy.
- Melina loves sweet potato, butternut squash, apples and pears and any type of cereal. Avocado and peas are iffy and she really disapproves of lentils and green beans. The other day, Dave gave her some real oatmeal, which has a chunkier texture than her baby oatmeal, and she was thoroughly appaled. You should've seen her face.
Dave's birthday is coming up tomorrow. Should I post his milestones too? :-)
