Forest Park & Pittock Mansion

Pittock Mansion overlooks Portland from the West Hills area, amidst a string of heavily wooded parks. The furthest park south is Washington Park which includes the Portland Zoo, the Hoyt Arboretum, the Rose Test Garden, Japanese Garden and other attractions. To the NW is Pittock Mansion settled between Washington Park and the massive Forest Park.

This morning we went to the local farmer's market for rhubarb, and then hiked with Haley on the Wildwood trail from Washington Park up to Pittock Mansion. There were a lot of folks out on the trails today including a suprising number of runners who run up and down the steep switchbacked trails. The view from the mansion is gorgeous, and Nike was pleased to see that you can setup a picnic on the grounds of the house. Something to keep in mind for a future visit.
