Council Crest Park
After some bad weather weekends and Nike's trip to Knoxville, we finally got back to exploring this weekend. We took Haley to Council Crest Park which is the highest point in Portland. The park was named because Native Americans had councils at the top of this hill, and leaders of local churches did in more recent times. There used to be an amusement park with a observation tower at the top, but now there is the less scenic water tower and TV antenna. Still, the views from the top were great. From one spot you can peer over the top of the fog layer to see Mt. Hood to the East and Mt. St. Helens to the NorthEast. We had a good time hiking the trails and burned enough calories to enjoy our Super Bowl snacks!
