Nike and I are trying to buy all the baby stuff we will need for about the first three months after birth. We've got a 'Baby Bargains' book from Millie that is a big help plus some fantastic advise from Harriet that is helping us decide what we need. To save money we are hitting Craigslist, Ebay, and local garage sales hard! (we're going with new products on important safety items like our car seat). This morning we went to about 12 garage sales and got some fantastic deals!
I was a little worried about quality going this route, but everything we have bought so far is in fantastic shape and we have saved a lot of $$. Based on my detailed spreadsheet (and those that know me will not be suprised by the spreadsheet), we've spent about $550 on $1400 of baby supplies. We're going to do an inventory of all the clothes we've bought so far to make sure we don't go overboard.
Of course all this second-hand shopping is not helping the economy, but it really is building the excitement for Nike and I as we shop for our coming daughter. What fun!

Wow!! You guys really impress me! Great deals you are getting there. Enjoy the fun times :)
Very cool. And you are still stimulating the small scale economy and keeping stuff out of landfills. Everyone wins as far as I can tell. Glad to hear it's going well.
Good deal(s)! When is the little one arriving?
September 26 is the official due date. We still need to move and buy more supplies - so it will stay busy.
