Taking public transportation is an experience for a variety of reasons. Of course, it's a great opportunity for people watching and you see quite some characters on the buses and trains around Portland. Here are some highlights:
- the guy in his 50s with a ponytail who is always barefoot, no matter how cold or wet it is (ugly feet too!)
- the bus driver who juggles and makes balloon figures on her breaks
- the young guy who has a scarf wrapped around half his face (overing his mouth and nose) no matter what the temperature - this is not Portland, MAINE!
I, on the other hand, am perfectly normal. :-)
