Cultural Differences - Baby Food
Yesterday, we went downtown for some shopping and I checked out the selection of baby foods here in Germany (your shopping priorities really change as a parent!). Banana, carrot and potato seem to be universal baby food staples but I found some I had never seen in the US, for example parsnip, cauliflower and pumpkin. Melina gave parsnip a thumbs down (we'll try again though) but I bet she'll like the pumpkin. After all, she likes sweet potato and winter squash. Melina likes provolone cheese but hasn't been too fond of any of the cheese I've given her here, even the mild flavored ones. Is this really my child!? :-) When Dave gets here, we'll introduce Melina to Brezeln (soft pretzels), a South German staple.
