My First Week Back at Work

Classes started on Monday so this has been my first week back at work. So how did it go? Let's just say TGIF!!! Juggling everything is pretty overwhelming and I hope I get the hang of it soon. I teach two classes on Mondays and Wednesdays. I arrive on campus around 8:30 (I get up at 5:40!) then teach from 10-12 and 2-4. Between classes, I have meetings, need to make copies, eat, pump, breathe... On those days, I was running around frantically and felt like a chicken with its head cut off. Fridays, I also go to campus for office hour, dept. meetings etc. Tuesdays and Thursdays, I try to work from home. Since I'm saving the commute on those days, I hope to pick up Melina early and spend a bit more time with her. Right now, I have physical therapy on those days though. I've developed tendinitis in my left wrist and am very tight in my chest and shoulders, leading to swelling, numbness and pain. The cause is probably a combination of bad posture, picking up Melina and holding her while nursing. So much for picking her up early. With all this craziness, the house was a mess and I mentioned to Dave how I hate having a messy house. I came home that day and he had cleaned before going to work. What a fabulous husband I have! So it's almost the weekend (did I already say TGIF!?) and I look forward to "sleeping in", which means getting up at 6:30 instead of 5:40. The problem with babies is that you can't just change their sleep routine because you don't have to go to work. Oh well, gotta be grateful for those 50 extra minutes...
Have a good weekend everybody.
