Purple Toe

On Saturday, Dave decided to take advantage of a break in the rain to go running with Haley. She was very excited when they left, which was a bad sign. During their run, they saw a woman with a dog and Haley lunged. We've been trying to train her not to do this for YEARS, especially because she's hurt my back that way so I couldn't stand straight for several days. Thanks to the Gentle Leader, a type of harness/collar, it is much easier to control her when she lunges. Well, on Saturday, Haley landed on Dave's foot with the full force of all her 65 lbs, bruising Dave's big toe really bad. Poor Dave is limping and his toe is a deep purple.
Dave and I decided to invest in an elliptical trainer since trying to squeeze gym visits into our packed schedules is out (running is not really an alternative because of my bad knees, all the rain we get here for months on end and the big hills in the area we live in). On Saturday, we put the machine together but Dave hasn't been able to use it yet because of his injured toe. I, on the other hand, have used it already and love geting my heart pumping again (I hadn't done any cardio since September).

Sorry to hear about Dave's toe. I hope he feels better soon. Mostly I can't believe Haley weighs 65 pounds! She must be solid muscle.
