We've been home with Melina for five days now. Classes started on Monday and it's strange for me not to be teaching.
My body is slowly recovering from labor and delivery. Today, I walked Haley for the first time, a bit slower than my normal pace but I enjoyed the fresh air (despite the rain). My back is acting up a bit, which is probably caused by a combination of the pushing during labor and holding/carrying Melina. My postpartum body throws new challenges my way ("Holy moly, are those really my breast!?") and so do the hormones. Let's just say my tear ducts have gotten some good flushings lately. Sometimes they're happy tears, sometimes it's more the baby blues.
Melina is a great sleeper, maybe even too much so. It's sometimes difficult to wake her for her feedings. But I'm not complaining...
Dave is wonderful! He does all the diaper changes, fixes meals, consoles me during my hormonal meltdowns etc.
