Last weekend was devoted to unpacking but this weekend we get to have fun in Portland. This morning, we went to the International Rose Test Garden in Washington Park. This 4,5 acre garden features 7,000 plantings of 550 rose varieties. How fitting for the Rose City! I even discovered a variety named for the former German chancellor Helmut Schmidt.

Between your blog and Trena's, I'm starting to think I need to get out more. But I did spend 8 hours today with four children under 8 and then attended a baby shower with one of those children (my own). I should get some sort of "nature" credit for that. We did make the girls dig potatoes and help clean up inedible fruit. That's nature, right?
Millie - yes, that's nature!
Nike - looks like a beautiful day. I love exploring a new city and I can only imagine Portland has many secrets for you to discover.
Trena,
Where is your blog? I'd like to check it out.
If you click on my name in the comment here, you'll see a link to it (six down one to go). Happy reading :)
