The Trip as a Whole...

Here's a recap of our trip:

  • Total Miles: 2627
  • Gas: $441 (Did you know that you are not allowed to pump your own gas in Oregon?)
  • Lodging: $226: not easy to find hotels that allow pets, slept well on Anita & Ken's bunk beds

  • Food: $99: Subway (we won a free cookie), Taco Time (they serve "Mexi Fries", which are actually tater tots, nothing Mexican about them, not even a trace of cumin or jalopeno), Quizno's, Chili's (yummy mushroom and Swiss bean burger), Cici's Pizza, The Old Corral (a restaurant in Centennial, WY run by conservative Christians: no alcohol, the server's T-shirt said "The devil sucks. Jesus saves.") -> difficult to eat on the road as vegetarians, but we already knew that.

  • Favorite Event: hike in Medicine Bow National Forest, WY with Anita and Ken

  • Leroy puked in the car every day.

  • Gotta love states with 75 mph speed limit.

  • Best Entertainment: NPR and the audio book

  • Weather: rain in Wyoming, very windy in Nebraska (during our picnic lunch at a rest area, several things blew off the table), otherwise sunny

Below are some pictures of our new place:

So last night Magda explained to me that her imaginary best friend had moved away and that she was very sad but that it was ok because she could ride in an airplane to go visit her. I can't imagine where she go that from.

That's pretty funny, Millie! I hope she keeps her desire to be like you for many years.
