The weather is supposed to be nice for the weekend and we're trying to make plans. We like to hike but I have to admit that I'm a bit paranoid after hearing the following news reports in the last weeks:
- a family was hit by a rock slide near Multnomah Falls
- a man died after falling off a cliff during a hike
- a man twisted his ankle hiking on Mount Adams and was lost for 5 days
- a man fell/slid 300 feet on Mount Hood

Yowza! Well, the mountains are definitely more "mountainous" there than here. I say go for it!!
