Teaching

As you know, I felt a bit overwhelmed at the beginning of the term with this new kind of teaching. I am happy to report that it's getting a lot easier to think of interesting activities for my class. Yesterday went especially well, I thought. We finished the unit on motivation in second language acquisition and I had them critique the wikipedia entry for that topic (yes, there is one - Dave was amazed). I don't want to brag but I got this e-mail from one of my students today:
"I just wanted to let you know how impressed I am with your class so far. I like how relevant and authentic all the assignments are - like the blog, journals, and learner profile. And I really appreciate the variety of tasks that you have us do in class, it's always a little different - not to sound cliché, but it really is motivating!"
That's good to hear. As teachers, we don't get nearly enough feedback if we are doing a good job.

You GO girl. I'm not at all surprised by this but it's nice to get external validation!
