Election Day, Oregon Style

It's election day! I have to admit that I'm ready for the campaigning to be over. There are no lines at polling stations in Oregon, no lack of ballots, no voting machine mishaps ... because everybody votes by mail in Oregon. There are 12 state ballot measures on the books this year, ranging from English as a second language in public schools to mandatory prison sentences. And in our county, there are several proposed levies (until recently, I didn't know what a levy was) to fund the zoo, the community college etc. Dave got 2 big pamphlets with information about the candidates and ballot measures. And we were bombarded by TV ads.
