I just got an e-mail from a student who is interested in my class on computer-assisted language learning next term. Here's what she wrote:
"I am hoping the class will be informative, intellectually stimulating and productive, rather than time consuming or confusingly complicated and abstract as are two classes I am in now. Perhaps you could characterize the class a little more for me now that you know what I am interested in, and tell me if you think I will be a good fit for the class."
Which teacher doesn't intend to offer an informative, intellectually stimulating and productive class!?!

OMG, that's an awesome student e-mail. I love when people don't consider their audience in the slightest.
Yeah, I got an email this week that said "Dr. Gimmel, can you tell me if you class has a lot of work or not. I'm taking a lot of hours and can't take a hard class."
It's a 400 level literature class. What does she expect?
But it's not as could as your student's email.
