Silver Falls State Park

Today Nike and I drove about an hour south to Silver Falls State Park. This is the largest state park in Oregon, and is located in a temperate rainforest of Douglas Firs and Western Hemlock trees. The highlight of the park is an 8 mile hiking loop - "The Trail of 10 Falls". You guessed it, 10 magnificent waterfalls! Nike and I hiked the loop, and offer you these pictures. You get to hike behind the falls on 3 or 4 of them - pretty awesome! On the way to the park, we passed through the small town of Mt. Angel, which has some great German style architecture and an Oktoberfest in September. We've already marked our calendar for next fall.
