We don't have much free space in our house, i.e. no room for the Christmas tree, I was afraid. There would've been space in the basement, where Dave's office and the TV are, but it's not a nice room - we refer to it as the dungeon. But then Dave had the ingenious idea to leave off the bottom third of our tree. Perfect! This year, we used only straw and wood ornaments, most of which we had bought on sale at Ikea in Atlanta early this year. They remind me of traditional German Christmas decoration "Strohsterne" (there are in fact a few German imports on the tree among the Swedish ornaments) and they are very sustainable (big buzz word in Portland and at PSU).
We moved from Knoxville to Portland, and are now using our blog to let our friends and family know what's up!

We lopped off the top of our hemlock tree and brought it inside for our tree, which we decorated today. It's a little Charlie Brownish, but we love it. Yours looks great!
