Pizza
Dave had downloaded a podcast from Bon Appetit magazine about artisan pizza. It featured 3 restaurants, one in NY, one in LA and another in, you guessed it, Portland: Ken's Artisan Pizza in Southeast (Portlanders don't say "in THE Southeast" or "Southeast PORTLAND"). It was also mentioned in the guide book that my mom had bought so we checked it out yesterday. It was packed and the wait was an hour. Dave and I ran to the Whole Foods a few blocks away while waiting to buy food for our New Year's Eve dinner. But it was well worth the wait. The pizzas out of the wood burning oven were absolutely delicious. I had one with fresh arugula and my mom raved about hers with fennel sausage.
