This will be a long road trip for us, 2,500 miles to be exact, or over 4000 kilometer. We plan to drive for 5 days, ca. 7 hours per day. Google Maps estimates 1 day, 13 hours for the drive. LoL!! I guess that's if you're superhuman and don't need to eat, pee, stretch your legs and just drive, drive, drive.
We'll go through 10 states: Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho and Oregon. What a tour de force! We'll share pictures from the road and post them on this blog.

Hi, ja genau ihr solltet ein wenig mehr Spaß haben und durch Kansas fahren! Dort gibt es ein Stuttgart - es ist wirklich entzückend (Gartenzäune, Blumenbeete) und hat etwa 60 Einwohner! Wir haben diese Fahrt auch einmal gemacht und finden ihr solltet unbedingt Zeit haben Euch ein paar Sachen anzuschauen... Den Arch in St. Louis, Elko und Winnimucca (Nevada, BurgerKing in der Wüste) und den Schnee in den Bergen kurz vor der Westküste...
Wir haben unseren Umzug nun hinter uns und ich muss sagen, es lässt sich gut an.

Elke, ist Stuttgart nicht in Arkansas? In Arkansas gibt es ein Stuttgart, von einem in Kansas habe ich noch nicht gehoert.

I'm bowing to the knowledge of Google Maps on the shortest route, so Kansas is out for now. Maybe some other time.

I just looked and Kansas is only a couple of miles off our route when we are on I-29 from KC to Lincoln. Maybe we'll detour a bit so I can mark it off my "List of States I've visited".
