I did a lot of planning on google maps trying to figure out the different stopping points for our 5 day journey so each day was about the same distance. My original itinerary had us spending our 2nd night in Lincoln Nebraska. Unfortunately, when I went to make our motel reservations (pet friendly, of course), I quickly discovered I had made a crucial oversight. That night is the home opener for Nebraska football! Nothing within 50 or so miles of Lincoln is available, so I adjusted plans and went for the small town of Grand Island, Nebraska - about 100 miles to the west.
You would think that being big Tennessee Volunteer fans we would have taken this into account, but then we did have our wedding last year during the UT-Cal game.
How can a small town in Nebraska get the name Grand Island? We'll see.

8/29 - St. Louis Missouri
8/30 - Grand Island Nebraska
8/31 - Centennial Wyoming (staying with friends Ken & Anita)
9/01 - Twin Falls Idaho (1 yr Anniversery Dinner - potatoes)
9/02 - Portland Oregon
