Drive Day 3: 440 Miles to Wyoming

Nike and I drove across the rest of Nebraska today, and on to Centennial Wyoming where we are staying with Ken and Anita. Centennial is a small town (pop. ~100), with a frontier feel to it. There are about 3 restaurants and a few bars that cater to the tourists that come through on their way to hiking, camping, and whatever in the the beautiful mountains of the area.

After arriving, we all went for a nice hike in Medicine Bow National Forest up near Medicine Bow mountain. It was quite a change to be up at the high altitudes hiking where there is still snow on the ground. Haley was very (too) excited to be able to go with us, and Nike and I were amazed by the gorgeous views. A few pictures from the hike are below.

Tomorrow, we are off to Twin Falls Idaho to celebrate our 1 year anniversary!

The view from the bridge at Twin Falls is very nice, and there is a good overlook. Carol and I have driven form Idaho Falls to Boise several times and stopped for the veiw.

Larry, we passed the overlook on the way to our motel. We'll definitely stop tomorrow morning on our way out.

Yes, we're in potato country now. But Idaho is actually the "Gem State" - a little US trivia for you.
